Clinical Trials Charge Nurse – London – Anti-cancer therapies – Up to £60k Salary D.o.E +
The Company
Carrot is partnering with the first UK trials unit outside of the NHS that could offer new anti-cancer drugs in clinical trials. As a dedicated trials unit, this client has a focus on fast study set-ups to offer patients' rapid access to new investigational drug therapies. As such, they are looking to appoint a new Sister/Charge Nurse within their Clinical Trials Day Care Unit in London.
To be considered for this role you must have experience working as an NMC registered, senior/lead nurse within Oncology.
The Role
Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:

As the sister/charge nurse you will act as an exemplar role model delivering high standards of safe care.

Responsible for supporting, leading, and managing the experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to cancer patients on clinical trials.

This will include meeting medical, physical, and emotional needs by effectively communicating with the patient and their families whilst ensuring they are cared for in a safe and comfortable environment.

The Sister/Charge Nurse is responsible for ensuring high levels of customer service alongside the multi-disciplinary colleagues.

You will utilise specialist skills including chemotherapy administration, advanced communication and management of complex patients and support others towards the same.

Registered General Nurse with valid NMC pin.

Significant post registration experience within an oncology setting or equivalent.

Clinical Trials experience desired but not essential
-
Intravenous chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration experience essential.

Knowledge of outpatient/day care delivery and the challenges this presents.

Mentorship and Preceptorship experience

Experience of management and leadership of a clinical team

Motivated and forward-thinking individual with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Ability to prioritise care and use initiative within a team and as an individual, seeking support as required.

Evidence of self-development and service improvement and a desire to continue this.

Act as a positive role model adhering to expected standards of behaviour, promoting a supportive ethos to empower staff to deliver high quality person-centred care through example, supervision and appraisal.
