Public Affairs and Advocacy Lead (Rare Disease)- Global Pharma Company – UK-Remote – 12month FTC - c£75K + Car Allowance + Benefits

The Role

As Public Affairs and Advocacy Lead working within the Rare Disease function, you will be responsible for developing and managing a stakeholder engagement plan to build relationships with patient groups and KOLs to shape policy and improve patient access to rare disease treatments:

  • Developing and managing a robust stakeholder engagement plan based on prior public affairs and advocacy experience
  • Identifying and building relationships with PAGs and KOLs working within Rare Diseases
  • Working in conjunction with the brand and marketing teams to shape strategies in order to best influence change and market positioning
  • Planning and implementing a programme of activities to engage and foster relationships with key patient groups and organisations


To be considered for this Public Affairs and Advocacy Lead (Rare Disease), my client is looking for someone with the following profile:

  • Educated to degree level, preferably in life science, business, or marketing
  • Experience working within Public Affairs, Policy, or Patient Advocacy with Detailed knowledge of the main policy challenges associated with medicines
  • Track record of managing cross-functional projects, including planning, stakeholder engagement, budget management, and implementation.
  • Knowledgeable of NHS structures and the current healthcare environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge or detailed understanding of the ABPI code in relation to the promotion of medicines within the UK (more than ABPI qualified).
