The Role
As a Senior Medical Writer, you’ll lead the development of high-quality scientific content across diverse therapy areas and audiences. You’ll take the scientific lead on projects, working closely with internal creative and digital teams to bring ideas to life in engaging and impactful ways. You'll also have opportunities to mentor junior writers and contribute to wider strategic initiatives and business development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating accurate, engaging scientific materials tailored for different audiences and purposes
- Leading projects from a content and strategy perspective, with cross-functional collaboration
- Critically appraising medical literature to ensure scientific credibility and relevance
- Acting as a scientific advisor to clients and healthcare professionals
- Supporting the growth and development of junior team members
- Participating in strategic planning and new business pitches
You
To be considered for this Senior Medical Writer opportunity, you’ll need:
- A strong scientific background (degree in life sciences required; MSc/PhD preferred)
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in medical communications
- Broad therapeutic knowledge and ability to adapt to different subject areas
- Exceptional attention to detail and content quality standards
- Strong time-management, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and ability to work collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
