Editorial Support Specialist – Medical Society – Publications / Medical Education – Fully Remote in UK

The Role
As Editorial Support Specialist, you will edit and QC a range of journal publications and derivative products:
- Provide editorial support and formatting to ensure clarity, cohesion, proofreading, selective data checks, accuracy, aligned to templates, style and SOPs.
- Build reference libraries using EndNote
- Comfortable working with authors, tracking input and approvals, leaving clear comments and responding to feedback.
- Format slide sets making sure the correct template is used, they are standardised, look neat and professional.
- Manage journal submissions, resubmissions and online publications
- Prepares author disclosure statements based on provided declaration of interest (DOI)
You
You may be working as an Editor / Senior Editor in Medical Communications and be keen to broaden your experience by working for a specialist medical society.
- Publications experience with clinical, scientific or medical manuscript editing
- Knowledge of the journal submission process
- Comfortable communicating with authors and medical experts
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Sharepoint PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Teams)
- Knowledge of a reference library management system
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and self-organisation skills
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat annotation and drawing markup tools
