Scientific Director – Pubs and Med affairs – Fully remote USA (East Coast or Central based)

The Company

  • Variety of therapy areas with specialism in Rare Disease, Urology, Haematology, Gene Therapy and Oncology.

  • Team members based throughout the US and UK

The Role

As a Scientific Director you will be able to provide expert high-level medical writing/editorial support along with scientific and strategic insights to client work. 

  • Hands on role with content generation for a range of projects, being the writing/ client lead on specific projects.

  • Provide scientific support at congresses/meetings as needed (e.g. at slide previews, taking notes at Advisory Boards to write reports)across the US.

  • Directly manage, mentor, guide and coach junior members of the Scientific Services/ Client Services team to ensure excellence in project delivery across all scientific content.

  • Implementing quality control processes at all stages of a project, including Therapeutic Lead review, editorial review and data checking.

  • Liaise with senior management, writers, editors, client service, digital, designers and artworkers where necessary to coordinate the delivery of projects.

You

To be successful as a Scientific Director, you should have: 

  • At least 5 years of similar agency experience

  • Strong publications background

  • Have worked on various therapeutic areas ideally including Oncology, Haematology and/or Urology

  • Direct management responsibilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A higher scientific degree (PhD/PharmaD/ MD) is preferred

  • Must be based on either the East Coast or Central US

  • Excellent writing and editing skills gained in a medical communications agency; able to write in a range of styles and learn new therapy areas quickly. 

  • High level scientific understanding of a range of therapy areas and an ability to rapidly assimilate information for new therapy areas. 

  • Excellent Project Management skills including organisation and time management.
